LARKANA: To provide relief to flood victims, Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has begun building 40 model houses.
A first model house, featuring two rooms, kitchen facilities and washroom, has been completed in Larkana district’s flood-affected Union Council Pir Bakhsh area.
On July 6, Sardar Shahid Ahmed Leghari will unveil the model house as part of an important PRCS initiative.
PRCS officials reported that 40 model houses will be constructed across flood-stricken regions as a safe haven for those affected by devastating floods.
PRCS has completed installation of a solar-powered water filtration plant and three clean drinking water plants are being established across different districts to provide access to clean drinking water for affected communities.
At Thursday’s inaugural ceremony, Larkana Rabiaya Siyal, Chairperson of PRCS Sindh Branch Farzana Naik and representatives from Canadian Red Crescent will join PRCS staff, volunteers and local officials for an inaugural event to commemorate World Red Cross Day.
PRCS’s commitment to meeting the needs of flood victims during these difficult times by building model houses and installing sustainable water filtration systems is evident through these initiatives.
Through such initiatives, PRCS strives to empower communities, providing them with essential facilities and the assistance they require to overcome the devastation caused by floods.
